New Adventures on the Horizon I have several new projects on the slate this month along with a few ongoing projects that have recently been given new life thanks to a resurgence in the local independent entertainment industry. My goal is to collaborate or network with other artists and techs to build on and flesh out a few ideas from the big board. Eventually, I would like to hire managing directors for most of the sub-divisions of Soundboy America and continue on as executive producer. As my academic career draws to a close, my intent is to re-establish myself in both my personal technical career and my public artistic career. This will not be an easy task, but I am up to the challenge. The past year has made me hard and strong, with a renewed sense of social responsibility and professional dignity. Everyone knows that I'm no stranger to controversy - there is no shame in my game and I have nothing to hide. I got through my undergrad and film school by doing some pretty questionable things to make money (some of you know, some of you don't know) but I never asked anyone to fight my battles for me and never ever questioned why things shook out the way they did. This time around, I had to put my shoulder on the boulder and push - and that is exactly what I did. The biggest questions have yet to be asked or answered. I am ready to settle down (no, seriously) and start my family. When I reach that point there will be questions about possibly going after my Masters Degree. My response to that now and in the future is "whoa, horsey". It's pretty evident that school has been giving me whippings and talking-to's for about 34 years. It may be time to take a break. In other news, the Best of the Soundboy ShowTM is now available on DVD. New episodes will feature more audio interviews and stock footage. I have also been thinking about transforming the Freedom vs. LibertyTM webcast into an anarchist blog, which I find myself addicted to lately. That would open up my lack of ideology or post-modernism to a new audience - people who read. Thats a good area of expansion for me.
